Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a Permanent technician for the New Victoria Hospital Endoscopy Decontamination Unit. The role focuses on accurate inspection, cleaning, and loading of AERs for surgical procedures to support patient care.

Applicants should have one year training in EDU operations, strong attention to quality procedures, and good communication skills to work effectively as part of a team within the ED unit.

Qualifications

• Experience in decontamination and use of washer/disinfectors.
• Ability to follow HTM2030 standards and policies.
• Good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Accurate inspection, manual cleaning, loading of AERs for surgical procedures.
• Cleaning of flexible scope equipment to comply with Decontamination Standards.
• Compliance with Health and Safety, Fire, Security policies and procedures.
• Correct operation of washer/disinfectors, drying cabinets and EDU equipment.
• Ensure tracking and traceability from EDU to each patient.
• Complete documentation for equipment tracking through the decontamination process.
