Job summary

The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a trained Scrub Nurse to join our perioperative team at Stanmore. You will deliver safe, effective scrub care, support the surgical team, and uphold the highest standards of infection control and patient safety throughout the perioperative journey.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assist with theatre lists, participate in training and audits, and contribute to excellent patient care.

Qualifications

• NMC/HCPC registered adult nurse. Current practice.
• BLS certification.
• Understanding of perioperative safety principles.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective evidence-based perioperative care in the scrub role.
• Maintain patient dignity, privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Prepare, check and maintain theatre equipment, instruments and consumables.
• Provide skilled scrub assistance to the surgical team with aseptic technique.
• Rotate to other clinical areas within the department as required.
• Participate in the on-call rota and work flexibly including long shifts and weekends.
