Job summary

Spire Murrayfield Hospital in Edinburgh is seeking an experienced Theatre Practitioner to join the team in anaesthetic and recovery on a permanent basis. You will work with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care in a state-of-the-art private hospital.

The role involves assisting with a variety of elective procedures, delivering perioperative care in PACU, and supporting continuous improvement in patient experience.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with recovery / PACU experience or competence.
  • Experience working in small teams independently.
  • Experience in all types of surgery (excluding cardiac and neurological).
  • ALS/ILS desirable but not essential; training available if required.

Responsibilities

  • Support patients undergoing elective procedures across orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, spinal and other areas, including robotic and laparoscopic cases.
  • Provide exemplary care in the recovery or post-operative phase using clinical knowledge and team support.
  • Maintain patient dignity, privacy and communication; coordinate area duties in absence of team lead.

Spire Murrayfield Hospital is recruiting an experienced Theatre Practitioner to join their warm and friendly team, on a permanent basis to work in anaesthetic and or recovery

Duties and responsibilities
  • Working as part of this friendly and supportive team you can expect to assist patients undergoing a variety of elective procedures including Major Orthopaedic including robotic and foot and ankle, laparoscopic, bariatrics, Robotics gynaecology and urology, Spinal, Breast
  • You will be required to provide exemplary care in the recovery or post-operative phase of surgery using appropriate clinical knowledge including support from other team members
  • Respect the patient’s dignity, privacy, wishes and beliefs while in your care
  • Maintain high standard of care and effective communication to patients
  • Undertaking coordinating roles within area when no team lead available
Who we're looking for

  • Experience of working in teams independently within a small team
  • Experience in all types of surgery, excluding cardiac and neurological
  • ALS/ILS desirable not essential as training will be given if required
