Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is hiring a Band 6 Perinatal Mental Health Practitioner in the Cheshire East area, with a substantial caseload and a multidisciplinary team. The post supports perinatal and infant mental health services for women, with a focus on high-quality, tailored interventions and flexible working patterns.

The role welcomes nurses, social workers, midwives and occupational therapists, with options for full-time, part-time or condensed hours.

Qualifications

Educated to diploma/degree level and registered with an appropriate professional body (e.g. RMN, SW, Midwife, OT)
Level 3 Safeguarding Children and Young People or willingness to undertake training
Post graduate qualification relevant to the specialism

Responsibilities

Manage a defined caseload of women with moderate to severe mental health difficulties in the perinatal period.
Complete initial assessments for referrals into the perinatal service.
Be duty practitioner on a rota basis.
Contribute to MDT meetings to ensure effective plans and interventions.
Engage with a wide range of stakeholders including staff, women/birthing people, families, carers and other agencies.
Liaise with professionals across settings.
Ensure equality of access to services, paying attention to diversity and hard-to-reach groups.
Plan and coordinate own day-to-day workload with service needs.
