Job summary

Arsenal Football Club is seeking an Academy Performance Psychologist on a 12-month fixed-term basis. You will coordinate and deliver performance psychology across all academy age groups (U9-U21) to optimise champion mentality and performance.

Embedded in an interdisciplinary team, you will develop players' psychological capacities, work with coaches, medical, and wellbeing groups, and contribute to research while upholding safeguarding and confidentiality standards.

Qualifications

• Background in high-level sport with psychology services in elite sport.
• HCPC registered Sport and Exercise Psychologist; postgraduate training through BPS or CASES.
• Safeguarding and First Aid certificates current.

Responsibilities

• Provide education and individual/group psychology support across the academy.
• Design player profiles and development plans.
• Assess injured players and monitor return-to-play.
• Support wellbeing and mental health screenings.
• Collaborate with Coaches to design training for champion mentality.
• Partner with Medical team on mental health concerns.
• Contribute to research and development in psychology.
• Uphold safeguarding and equal opportunities policies.
• Be an ambassador for the club and maintain confidentiality.
