Do you have the strategic vision and leadership presence to influence performance at the highest level? We're seeking a highly influential and results-oriented Performance Manager to lead the performance strategy for one of the UK's most advanced train fleets. This role requires a confident leader who can navigate complex operational environments, foster collaboration, and deliver measurable improvements in fleet performance.

As the Performance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing specialised interfaces and aligning performance initiatives with broader operational goals. Your ability to influence, negotiate, and lead across diverse teams and functions will be key to success.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop and lead performance strategies for the Class 700 fleet, working collaboratively across internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and delivery.
• Create and maintain performance improvement plans, identifying trends, analysing root causes, and implementing innovative, data-driven solutions.
• Monitor and report on fleet performance using a defined suite of KPIs, producing clear and insightful periodic performance reports.
• Coordinate performance targets and submissions in line with regulatory and operational expectations, ensuring strategic alignment.
• Oversee delay attribution processes, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and consistency in performance reporting.
• Represent the fleet performance function in high-level meetings, influencing outcomes and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  
  

What You'll Bring

• A proven track record in fleet performance management or complex engineering operations.
• Strong knowledge of rolling stock systems, maintenance regimes, and operational performance drivers—particularly within high-capacity, modern fleets.
• Exceptional influencing and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead across organisational and contractual boundaries.
• Strong analytical capabilities, with experience in KPI development, performance reporting, and trend analysis.
• Deep understanding of delay attribution, performance planning, and third-party maintenance relationships.
• A confident communicator with the ability to challenge constructively, resolve disputes, and drive collaborative outcomes.
• Flexibility to support on-call and out-of-hours responsibilities as needed.
