Job description

  • Controlling and auditing site activity, ensuring the safety of the team, contractors, and other third parties through the consistent application of company Health & Safety policies.
  • Managing a team of Slow Sand Filter Operators and a Working Supervisor to perform effectively against internal and external targets.
  • Delivering increasing levels of customer experience and optimising service delivery.
  • Preparing reports and presentations for key stakeholders as required.
  • Ensuring the team aligns with production plans and service agreements are met.
  • Collaborating with the Technical team to ensure assets are available and in sound working order.
  • Managing budgets and costs to meet and exceed financial targets while maintaining quality.
  • Maintaining the operability of the Slow Sand Filter team’s mobile plant by certifying effective maintenance, diagnosing faults, and working with maintenance contractors.
  • Participating in an out-of-hours roster with the management team may be required.

What you should bring to the role

  • Experience in managing and supporting a team, with the ability to develop and encourage team members.
  • Water industry experience and knowledge of the clean water process are beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience operating mobile plant is advantageous.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage workload under pressure.
  • Confidence in presenting key findings and liaising with managers at all levels.
  • A strong background in process management, operations, engineering, finance, H&S, stakeholder engagement, and customer focus is essential.
  • A valid UK driving licence is required.
