Job Description

Performance Lead

London

Who We Are

We’re looking for an experienced Performance Lead to join our European Digital Activation Hub, working with a well-known sportswear brand operating at the intersection of sport, culture and creativity.

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of our largest and most strategically important partnerships and take a senior role in shaping performance activation across Europe. You’ll work across multiple markets and channels, alongside specialists in media, data, technology, measurement and activation, with the opportunity to influence how significant digital investment is planned, activated and measured.

At Omnicom Media, we believe our best work happens when people have the opportunity to make an impact, develop their careers and bring different perspectives to the table. We’re committed to creating an inclusive environment where our people can thrive, supported by strong learning and development opportunities and a collaborative global community.

If you’re passionate about performance marketing, commercially minded and excited by the opportunity to connect data, investment and activation to drive measurable business growth for a major global brand, this could be a fantastic next step.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the performance activation strategy across Europe, overseeing search, paid social and programmatic and ensuring activity is focused on delivering measurable commercial and digital commerce outcomes.
  • Translate business objectives and growth ambitions into clear performance strategies, developing annual and quarterly roadmaps that connect audience, media, creative and measurement across channels.
  • Drive a genuinely cross-channel approach to performance, ensuring search, social and programmatic work together effectively rather than being planned and optimised in isolation.
  • Lead investment and budget allocation across performance channels and markets, using performance data, modelling and commercial insight to ensure investment is directed towards the strongest opportunities for incremental growth.
  • Act as a senior strategic advisor, translating complex performance data into clear commercial recommendations and confidently guiding stakeholders through investment decisions, channel prioritisation and optimisation opportunities.
  • Partner closely with Data, Analytics and Effectiveness teams, using marketing mix modelling, incrementality testing and attribution to understand performance and inform future investment decisions.
  • Champion a strong test-and-learn culture, identifying opportunities across platforms, audiences, technology and activation approaches and ensuring experimentation is linked to meaningful commercial outcomes.
  • Set standards for activation excellence, developing quality frameworks and governance that ensure campaigns are built, optimised and measured consistently across European markets.
  • Help shape the approach to automation and AI within performance activation, identifying where new technology can improve bidding, audience management, workflows and overall effectiveness.
  • Work collaboratively across the wider account, partnering with Brand, Strategy & Planning, Media Operations, Investment and specialist data teams to ensure performance activity connects seamlessly with the broader media strategy.
  • Provide leadership across the performance activation function, prioritising resources, resolving complex delivery challenges and ensuring teams have the clarity and support needed to deliver high-quality work at scale.
  • Lead and develop a team of senior specialists, building capability through coaching, training and development while fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration and craft excellence.
  • Bring a strong commercial perspective, balancing performance, investment, agency revenue and client objectives to ensure decisions deliver value for both the partnership and the wider business.
Skills & Experience
  • Strong expertise in at least one of paid search, paid social or programmatic, alongside a strong working knowledge of the other performance channels.
  • Experience developing and owning performance strategy for a large, complex or multi-market advertiser.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the confidence to make and defend recommendations around budget allocation, investment and performance.
  • Strong understanding of performance measurement, including attribution, marketing mix modelling and incrementality testing, with the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience establishing activation standards, best practice and governance across channels and markets.
  • An informed understanding of the opportunities presented by automation and AI in digital activation, with the ability to assess where technology can genuinely improve performance and ways of working.
  • Proven ability to influence, advise and build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, including the confidence to challenge constructively when required.
  • Strong people leadership skills and a passion for coaching, developing and building high-performing specialist teams.

Omnicom’s policy requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, unless additional in-office days are directed by their agency or manager. Our objective is to increase this requirement over time, and many of our agencies as well as Omnicom’s corporate group already require five days of in-office attendance.

Omnicom is committed to hiring and developing exceptional talent. We agree that talent is uniquely distributed, and we’re focused on developing inclusive teams that can bring the best solutions to everything we do. We strongly believe that celebrating what makes us different makes us better together. Join us—we look forward to getting to know you.
