Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an experienced performance engineer to advance compilers and managed runtimes across our architecture, enhancing language runtimes, and identifying bottlenecks with hardware teams.

You will collaborate with open-source communities, contribute to performance testing frameworks, and help implement new runtime features while refining existing ones for languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, Rust and more.

Qualifications

Experience working on managed runtimes or compilers.
Strong C/C++ programming skills.
Familiar with performance analysis at the assembly level.
Knowledge of computer architecture and microarchitecture (CPU pipelines, caches).
Proficiency in software development practices (coding, testing, debugging).

Responsibilities

Identify and implement changes to compilers and managed runtimes to improve performance.
Identify bottlenecks in workloads/benchmarks using profiling tools.
Collaborate across the company to improve support for the company Architecture and CPUs.
Implement new runtime or compile features and fine-tune existing ones (garbage collectors, interpreters, optimisations).
Contribute to open-source projects and engage with open-source communities.
Help develop automated functionality and performance testing frameworks.
