Job summary

Safran is seeking a Performance and Dynamics Engineer to join the Systems Engineering team in Gloucestershire. You will perform performance and dynamics analysis for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems related to aircraft landing gear, extension/retraction and steering.

You will derive requirements and validate them using models and standard tools, contributing to product development and ensuring the integrated system meets program requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience in multi-body dynamic modelling and simulation.
  • Knowledge of nose-wheel steering analysis and vibration analysis.
  • Experience with DOORS requirements management and engineering discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Perform performance and dynamics analysis for mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems of aircraft landing gear and steering.
  • Develop models and run simulations to verify system performance against requirements.
  • Guide product development to ensure system dynamics meet program requirements.

What will I be doing? In this role you will be working on major programmes within the Systems Engineering team, which will include Research & Technology projects, development programmes and in-service support. You will be delivering performance and dynamic analysis for the mechanical, hydraulic and occasionally basic electrical systems as they relate to the operation of aircraft, landing gear, shock absorbers, extension/retraction and steering. You will be able to understand and derive requirements and how these impact the validation and verification of the product utilising standardised methods and tools. Possessing good knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic system products, you will help guide product development to ensure the performance and dynamics of the integrated system meet the program requirements.
