Job summary

A global aerospace leader in the UK is seeking a Performance and Dynamics Engineer to work on major programmes in their Systems Engineering team. Responsible for delivering performance and dynamic analysis for aircraft systems, the ideal candidate should have a degree in Engineering and experience with multi-body dynamics and simulation tools. The position offers a full-time contract with benefits including flexible working options, a generous pension scheme, and an annual bonus.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of performance and dynamic analysis for mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to derive requirements impacting validation and verification.
  • Good knowledge of nose-wheel steering analysis and airworthiness requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Work on major programmes within the Systems Engineering team.
  • Deliver performance and dynamic analysis for landing gear and associated systems.
  • Guide product development to meet performance and dynamics requirements.

What will I be doing?

In this role you will be working on major programmes within the Systems Engineering team, which will include Research & Technology projects, development programmes and in-service support.

You will be delivering performance and dynamic analysis for the mechanical, hydraulic and occasionally basic electrical systems as they relate to the operation of aircraft, landing gear, shock absorbers, extension/retraction and steering.

You will be able to understand and derive requirements and how these impact the validation and verification of the product utilising standardised methods and tools. Possessing good knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic system products, you will help guide product development to ensure the performance and dynamics of the integrated system meet the program requirements.

What do I need to succeed in the role?

Knowledge of:

  • Multi‑body dynamic modelling and simulation
  • Recoil analysis
  • Shimmy and stability analysis
  • Working knowledge of Python, MATLAB/Simulink, MSC ADAMS, MSC EASY5 and AMESim
  • Knowledge of nose‑wheel steering analysis, vibration analysis, electrical systems engineering, airworthiness requirements and aircraft systems certification
  • Experience on requirements management and DOORS
Educational skills and experience
  • A degree, or equivalent, in an Engineering discipline.
