Job description

This is a regionally based role with approximately 60% travel and 40% remote work, covering West Midlands and Warwickshire.

You will partner with our Regional Stores Director for Region 4 as a trusted advisor and business partner, supporting the execution of functional and geographic plans set by the Senior Leadership team. You will act as a conduit to our Centres of Excellence, ensuring the right expertise is engaged to solve business challenges.

The role will promote our culture, enable performance, coach managers, and deliver tangible returns by building supermarket colleague capabilities, maximizing capacity, and improving cost efficiency to enhance customer outcomes and shareholder value.

What you'll do

You’ll serve as a People Partner to our Regional Stores Director, identifying opportunities and driving priorities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and Centres of Excellence to develop and implement regional or divisional people plans addressing specific challenges. Your responsibilities include mobilizing these plans, fostering a high-performance culture through coaching and influencing leaders, executing business change initiatives, and promoting a collaborative and inclusive environment.

You will analyze people data to inform decisions, monitor progress against targets, and contribute to metrics related to engagement, talent, performance, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Your role is crucial in driving business performance and ensuring organizational capability.

You’ll spend 3-4 days weekly in stores across your region, observing the impact of initiatives, supporting Store Managers’ development, and assisting areas needing support.

Who you are

You are an experienced and strategic People/HR Business Partner with a proven record of working with senior leaders in fast-paced, complex organizations. You excel in creating and delivering people plans in partnership with Centres of Excellence, possess strong influencing and relationship skills, and have talent management expertise. Your ability to enable business change and analyze data to inform strategies adds value. You understand organizational design and effectiveness, contributing to effective business partnerships.

You are curious, proactive, engaging, and capable of handling challenging situations. You understand the fast-paced retail environment and how to deliver effectively.

Strengths you need to demonstrate

Being a Change Agent: Leading cultural and behavioral change among leaders, using data and insights to support and measure success.

Commercial Acumen: Understanding business levers and how people can influence them, making decisions that add value and keep the organization competitive.

Collaboration & Influence: Staying connected across teams, working with diverse leadership styles, and influencing effectively in an agile environment.
