We’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded People Partner (Manager Support) to partner with leaders and managers across our UK operations and support functions.

This is a hands-on role focused on turning people and workforce plans into practical action. You’ll work alongside factory and functional managers to strengthen leadership capability, embed effective people practices and support organisational change. Through your coaching, advice and challenge, you’ll help managers create a consistent and positive employee experience while improving engagement, performance, retention and productivity.

This role supports leaders across both our operational and SG&A functions, combining hands-on partnership with managers and collaboration with People Centres of Expertise to deliver effective people solutions, build capability and support business priorities.

What You’ll Do
Partnering with leaders
  • Build trusted relationships with operational and functional leaders, providing practical, commercially focused people advice.
  • Coach, advise and constructively challenge managers to strengthen leadership effectiveness and team capability.
Delivering people and workforce plans
  • Translate people and workforce plans into clear, practical actions for leaders and managers.
  • Implement talent, performance, succession and employee engagement initiatives.
Building organisational capability
  • Identify learning and capability needs and work with People Centres of Expertise to develop appropriate solutions.
  • Support managers with performance management, team development, career pathways, resource planning and recruitment.
Using insight to drive action
  • Use people management information to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Bring emerging themes to the attention of leaders and ensure appropriate action is taken.
Embedding effective people practices
  • Deliver and implement people policies, processes and services consistently.
  • Work collaboratively with Employee Services and People Centres of Expertise to ensure solutions are practical, relevant and aligned with business needs.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and continuously improve people processes.
  • Contribute to consultation, collective bargaining, collective disputes and TUPE activity where required.
What You’ll Bring
  • Broad generalist HR knowledge, including experience across talent development, organisation design, employee relations, change, performance management, workforce planning and succession.
  • Exposure to compensation and benefits and employee engagement.
  • Strong communication, influencing and relationship-management skills.
  • Commercial awareness and sound business acumen.
  • The ability to establish credibility and positively challenge stakeholders.
  • Strong facilitation, negotiation and stakeholder-engagement skills.
  • A good understanding of people policies, processes and specialist HR services.
  • The ability to interpret business and people information, identify trends and turn insights into action.
  • Planning, project-management and change-management capability.
  • Confidence, independence and a strong belief in the value an effective People function can bring to the business.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel nationally when required.
It would be great if you also have
  • Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.
  • Experience working in a unionised setting.
  • Exposure to business planning and commercially focused performance measures.
  • Experience leading organisational change and consultation activity.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience using HR systems and people analytics to identify improvement opportunities.
