Job description

If you’ve been looking to join a fast-growing startup with a bold vision of a world where doing good is built into everything we do, then you’ve found the right place.

Backed by General Catalyst, the same investors behind Stripe and Airbnb, we’re building something truly extraordinary.

Our Mission

Our mission at Goodstack is to revolutionize how the world does good.

As a fast growth, AI-native social impact startup, we power global change through technology. We enable companies to seamlessly integrate positive impact into what they do through a unified platform while supporting nonprofits in gaining access to cutting-edge technology and finding new funding streams.

Global brands, including Google, OpenAI, TikTok, LinkedIn, HSBC, Atlassian and Twilio - as well as thousands of nonprofits, including the Red Cross, Cancer Research, and Oxfam - use Goodstack to make a difference.

In 2025 alone, we facilitated $5 billion in donations to good causes. But this is just the beginning. We're building the world’s leading platform that powers donations to nonprofits globally.

To keep our momentum and deliver consistently high value to our partners, we need incredible people to help us on our journey – we need you.

Join us as People Operations Specialist and help us build a People function that’s simple, dependable and able to scale!

We're looking for someone to join in building the next chapter of our People function at Goodstack. Over the past four years, we've grown more than 8x, from 22 to ~200 Goodstackers across multiple countries. It's been an incredible journey, and with that kind of growth comes a whole lot of interesting challenges (and, let's be honest, plenty of admin to keep everything running smoothly and compliantly). We've built a strong foundation, but there's plenty of opportunity to make the experience of working at Goodstack even better. That's where you come in.

We're looking for someone who enjoys People Operations, gets satisfaction from making complicated things simple, and cares just as much about the little details as the bigger picture. Someone who takes ownership, asks thoughtful questions, and doesn't wait to be told what needs doing. You'll have plenty of autonomy, the opportunity to shape how we work, and a close partnership with the Head of People as we continue scaling the function. We don't expect you to know everything, but we do expect curiosity, good judgement, accountability and a willingness to learn. If you're the kind of person who gets a little too excited about a beautifully organised process, we'll get along brilliantly.

As People Operations Generalist, your mission will be to:

Making the Goodstacker experience brilliant

  • Own the end-to-end employee lifecycle, from onboarding and employment changes to offboarding, ensuring every experience is smooth, organised and thoughtful.

  • Prepare and quality-check employment contracts, amendments and other documentation.

  • Keep our People systems, employee records and documentation accurate, organised and up to date.

  • Be the go-to person for day-to-day People questions, resolving issues independently and escalating when appropriate.

  • Partner with Talent, Finance, IT, managers and external providers to ensure seamless coordination across teams.

Keeping global People operations running smoothly

  • Coordinate payroll inputs, deadlines, employee benefits and employment changes across our locations.

  • Manage the operational administration of our international Employer of Record (EOR) arrangements.

  • Support right-to-work checks, immigration and sponsorship administration.

  • Track compliance obligations and deadlines, identifying and flagging potential risks early.

Making things better as we grow

  • Coordinate the operational delivery of performance reviews, progression and compensation cycles.

  • Maintain People reporting, policies, templates and internal documentation.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve workflows and use AI and automation to eliminate repetitive work.

What success looks like:
  • Every new Goodstacker has what they need before Day 1 and feels welcomed from the start.

  • Contracts, payroll inputs, employee changes and records are accurate and delivered on time.

  • Our people and managers can count on you for clear, helpful answers and reliable support.

  • You spot issues early, solve problems independently and keep things moving without constant oversight.

  • Our People processes are running smoothly, with fewer manual steps and less time spent chasing admin.

  • Ultimately, you're creating the operational reliability that allows us to spend more time improving the experience of working at Goodstack.

This role is a perfect match for you if you have/are:
  • 3+ years of hands-on People Ops experience, ideally in a growing, international business.

  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly when handling contracts, payroll, employee data and anything where accuracy really matters.

  • Strong organisational skills and follow-through, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Experience with UK People administration, alongside exposure to international employment or EOR arrangements.

  • Confidence working with People systems, spreadsheets and payroll processes, with a strong understanding of confidentiality and data handling.

  • Sound judgement and genuine ownership, knowing how to solve problems independently and when to ask for support.

  • Clear, kind communication and a genuine interest in helping people.

  • An AI-native mindset, using AI, automation and technology thoughtfully to simplify work, improve accuracy and increase efficiency.

Bonus if you have:
  • Worked in a fast-growing startup and enjoy building things as you go.

  • Experience automating People Ops workflows.
