Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a pragmatic People & Culture professional to oversee compliance, data-driven HR decisions, onboarding enhancements, and multi-site recruitment support. You will coach managers, lead engagement initiatives, and drive AI-enabled process improvements across fast-moving hospitality and retail environments.

The role requires independence, driving capability, and willingness to travel across sites in the South of England. CIPD qualification is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• Practical People/HR experience.
• Confidence with real-world employee relations processes.
• Experience with disciplinaries, grievances, appeals, absence or capability processes.
• Hospitality/retail/QSR multi-site experience would be valuable.
• Willingness to own and work independently.
• Ability to challenge managers respectfully and use data.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Willingness to travel across South of England sites.
• CIPD qualification welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee right to work, visa expiries and People compliance.
• Own People dashboards and data; identify trends and act.
• Keep onboarding and probation processes on track and improve them.
• Support recruitment across sites and assist managers with systems and processes.
• Coach managers through People processes.
• Champion engagement surveys and act on results.
• Support events, recognition, development initiatives.
• Turn business problems and ideas into practical solutions.
• Support projects with the Managing Director and operational leaders.
• Visit restaurants and shops to coach managers and implement processes.
• Use AI, automation and smart technology to improve efficiency.
• Report to the Head of People & Culture.
