About this role

We are excited to share this opportunity to join our brilliant People team as People Officer - Policy, Process and Systems. In this important role, you will support the Head of People Policy, Process and Systems in delivering efficient, effective, and compliant people policies, processes and systems across the Trust. This role combines administrative precision, data management, and a proactive approach to policy and process improvement.

You will contribute to maintaining and enhancing HR policies, supporting process reviews, and engaging with schools and the central team to ensure effective use of the HR Information System. This is an ideal role for someone who is keen to learn, is detail-oriented, and comfortable working with systems, policies, and data.

This role is a full time, all year-round home-based role with regular travel to our Birmingham office and to our 44 schools nationwide as required.

About you

We are looking for a candidate with experience working with HR Information Systems (HRIS) or similar platforms, along with a solid understanding of HR processes such as data management, reporting, and policy implementation. The ideal candidate would be self-motivated and proactive with a proven ability to support process improvements and implement best practices to ensure our HR operations are efficient and effective.

Experience within the public sector is a key requirement, as it provides valuable insight into the demands and expectations of this environment. Ideally you will have knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice and experience in a multi-academy trust setting. Familiarity with the Green Book and Burgundy Book frameworks, and their application within education settings, would be a significant advantage, enabling the candidate to effectively navigate the unique challenges of HR in education.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high levels of data accuracy. Exceptional organisational skills are essential, as the role requires managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines effectively. Excellent communication skills are also critical, with the ability to explain policy information and technical system details clearly and concisely to a range of stakeholders.
