Job summary

Tops Day Nurseries Ltd. is seeking a People Advisor to join our People Team and support managers and colleagues across our nurseries. The role focuses on Employee Relations, providing practical advice and resolving issues with care and consistency.

You'll manage a varied ER caseload, coach managers through processes, and contribute to wider People projects, while working a flexible hybrid pattern that includes remote Mondays and Fridays.

Qualifications

• Experience in a People Advisor/HR Advisor role with hands-on Employee Relations.
• Knowledge of employment law, ACAS guidance, HR policies and ER processes.
• Ability to manage a varied ER caseload from advisory queries to complex matters.
• Clear, pragmatic advice and constructive challenge to managers.
• Strong communication, influencing and coaching skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to juggle multiple cases and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical People and ER advice to managers, ensuring fair and compliant handling of cases.
• Manage a varied ER caseload from day-to-day queries to complex matters.
• Coach and support managers through ER processes and decisions.
• Support investigations, hearings, meetings and appeals.
• Translate employment legislation and ACAS guidance into actionable guidance for managers.
• Build strong relationships with managers and colleagues as a trusted People advisor.
• Identify themes from casework to improve People processes and colleague experience.
• Collaborate with the wider People Team on projects and manager development.
• Travel occasionally across regions; driving licence and own car essential.
