Job summary

The Financial Conduct Authority is seeking a People Data & Reporting Analyst within the Operations division, HR department. The role focuses on turning people data into clear insights, supporting regular reporting, and responding to data requests to inform workforce decisions.

You will work with HR Analytics, HR Systems and the wider People function, using tools like Excel and Workday reporting to deliver accurate dashboards, insights and governance improvements across the organisation.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience of working with data, reporting or analysis in a professional environment.
  • Prior experience using Workday (or equivalent) to build reports, organise, analyse or present data.
  • A keen interest in people data, HR insight and using evidence to support better decisions.
  • Good problem-solving instincts and the ability to recognise patterns, evaluate data, and explore issues carefully.
  • Attention to detail and a dedication to producing accurate, reliable results.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, including explaining data and insight to colleagues who may not have a technical background.
  • Forward-looking and inquisitive mindset, with the ability to ask questions, examine data, and propose improvements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships across HR and the wider organisation.
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing tasks and deliver to deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Produce regular people reporting and management information, ensuring outputs are accurate, timely and clearly presented, enabling stakeholders to make informed workforce decisions.
  • Respond to ad hoc data and insight requests from HR colleagues and wider stakeholders, helping them understand workforce trends, patterns and issues to support effective decision-making.
  • Use Excel, Workday reporting and other analytical tools to extract, check, analyse and present people data, providing valuable insights that support business decisions.
  • Assist with data quality checks, identifying anomalies and working with colleagues to investigate and resolve issues, ensuring confidence in the accuracy and reliability of people data.
  • Support the development of dashboards, reports and insight products that help the People function and senior leaders make evidence-based decisions and shape strategic priorities.
  • Translate data into clear summaries, commentary and visual outputs that are accessible to non-technical audiences, making complex information easy to understand and act upon.
  • Work collaboratively with HR Systems and wider HR teams to understand data sources, definitions and reporting requirements, helping to deliver consistent and meaningful people insights.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activity, including improving reporting processes, documentation and data governance practices, enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and the overall quality of reporting outputs.

The People Data & Reporting Analyst will play an important role in turning people data into clear, useful insight. Working closely with colleagues across HR Analytics, HR Systems and the wider People function, you will support regular reporting, respond to data and insight requests, help improve the quality of our people data, and contribute to analytical work that supports strategic workforce decisions.
