SPC oversees firms and individuals (supervision), creates and reviews the rules by which they operate (policy) and identifies and remedies ineffective competition in markets (competition.
The Financial Crime Market Intervention department, within the Specialist Directorate, provides specialist expertise to help reduce the risk that regulated businesses are used for financial crime.
The department includes four Financial Crime Specialist Supervision teams, a Sanctions Supervision Team, a Fraud Supervision Team and a Risk, Data and Strategy Team. Working with colleagues across the FCA and external partners, it focuses on money laundering, financial sanctions, fraud, bribery and corruption.
This role sits in the Risk, Data and Strategy Team.
