Job description

About Us

We're Foundation Partners — a consultancy that exists to help ambitious companies defy the odds. 90% of startups fail. We work with the ones aiming to be in the 10%, giving them the leadership, talent and culture capability to grow faster, perform better, and deliver impact way beyond their stage.

Not every fast-growing company has the in-house resource, experience or capacity to build a world‑class People, Culture & HR operation — but every one of them needs it if they want to scale without breaking. That's where we come in. We blend strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery, working as an extension of our clients' teams so they get the "what should we do" and the "who's actually going to do it." We support companies at every stage of that journey — from building foundations and hiring the best people, to scaling org design and people strategy, to expanding leadership internationally.

We work with founders and executives who have audacious goals, bold ideas and brazen self‑belief — and we bring that same energy to how we work. We challenge thinking, raise expectations, and focus relentlessly on what actually moves the needle.

We're part of Amplified, alongside Unleashed and JBM — together, the people services group supporting startups from inception to IPO. We have big plans for growth, and this super exciting, progressive role is part of that.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to lay the foundations for a career in People + Culture. You'll get under the skin of the full employee lifecycle, working across multiple clients spanning tech, eCommerce, life sciences and venture capital — no two weeks, or clients, will look the same. Expect to be on site with clients around 3 days a week — this is a role built for someone who wants to be in the room with the people they're supporting, not just behind a screen.

You'll work directly with our partners — experienced people and business builders — on live client work. It's a role built for someone who loves building and creating, is fuelled by bringing order to ambiguity, and wants the kind of exposure that normally takes years to earn.

You're likely early in your People + Culture career, or a couple of years into consulting and hungry for more client exposure — or you might be moving across from a different but related field. What matters most is how you operate: a strong communicator who's comfortable in a room with senior executives and founders, a project management wizard who can bring people along on the journey rather than just chase deadlines, and someone who thrives on variety and is excellent at organising themselves across it.

We move fast and we're growing faster. That means real progression and real ownership, with plenty of opportunity to move into roles with more client exposure as you develop.

Key Responsibilities

You'll work directly with our amazing clients to deliver their people + culture roadmaps. This will include:

  • Developing People and Culture materials that bring new frameworks to life for our clients — from setting up a Notion site and team playbook, to designing new starter materials, to a vision and purpose launch deck for a team All Hands

  • Managing people ops, including benefits administration, memberships, onboarding, sick leave and employee contracts — comfortable getting hands‑on in an HRIS, and curious enough to figure one out fast if it's new to you

  • Project managing client workstreams end-to-end — keeping timelines, priorities and stakeholders on track, and bringing people along with clear, confident communication rather than just chasing tasks to done

  • Research and information gathering to support client work

  • Talent, including recruitment process support and light‑touch sourcing

  • Running user testing on new solutions and making changes based on feedback

Across all of it, we're looking for someone who thinks a step ahead — spotting what's likely to break before it does, fixing what you can yourself, and knowing exactly when to flag something up rather than sit on it.

Your Skills and Experience

We're committed to building a team with diverse experiences, so as long as most of these needs are met, please apply even if you don't tick every box.

  • Experience in a people team, business operations team or consulting in a scaling environment, with exposure across the full people and talent employee cycle — from sourcing to onboarding to performance

  • A strong communicator, in writing and in person — you're just as comfortable presenting to a founder or exec as you are writing a clear, concise update

  • Project management instincts — you can structure a piece of work, keep it moving, and bring stakeholders with you rather than working in a silo

  • Structured thinker — you're able to take complex concepts and turn them into clear content

  • Data analysis skills — you may have studied statistics, financial modelling or similar and be comfortable working with large datasets (e.g. in Excel)

  • Comfortable in an HRIS, or genuinely curious to learn one fast if you haven't used one before

  • Familiarity with tools and systems used in tech start‑up environments such as G‑Suite, Miro, Notion, etc

  • Visual communication and some visual design skills — helpful if you can work across G‑Suite, Miro and Figma

How you work

  • Extremely organised — you're working across multiple clients at once and have a strong system (yours, not ours) for keeping every plate spinning

  • Thinks one step ahead — you anticipate what's coming, not just what's in front of you

  • A self‑starter who tries to solve problems on your own before raising them, but knows exactly when something needs to be escalated rather than quietly worked around

  • Curious, with a genuine drive to fix things before they break — you don't wait for something to go wrong to go looking for it

  • Ships at a high standard, quickly — you know the difference between shipping something well and over-architecting something that didn't need it

  • A true generalist — you manage variety beautifully, developing a broad skillset and staying comfortable context‑switching across different workstreams

  • Collaborative and communicative — you'll work closely with the partners to create work for our clients

  • Focused on speedy impact — you don't just pick up a brief, you help shape it, working at pace to deliver against it

Compensation, Perks & Benefits
  • £40,000 - £50,000 per annum

  • 25 days holiday

  • 4 weeks work from abroad policy

  • £600 annually to spend via our benefits platform

  • Monthly lunches at our group-wide All Hands — a chance to properly connect with everyone across Amplified, not just your immediate team

  • Bi-annual socials where we celebrate our wins and each other

  • A front-row seat to learn from some of the best experts across people, culture and talent — this is a team that will genuinely accelerate your career, not just your CV
