Qualifications

Job description

Are you experienced in delivering strategic HR solutions and fostering cultural excellence?

DHU is seeking a People and Culture Advisor to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

The Purpose of the Role:

You will support the People & Culture Team in providing a comprehensive, consistent, and professional service to our customers, aligned with our CARE values and behavioral framework. Your responsibilities will include proactive, professional, and consistent advice on Absence Management and People Relations.

A key focus will be maintaining accurate data, effective communication, and escalation when necessary. You will provide expert guidance on key projects such as TUPE, Management of Change (MOC), and audits.

Daily Duties:

  • Act as the primary contact for absence-related matters, including short-term and long-term sickness, family leave, and other statutory or discretionary leave.
  • Monitor and analyze employee absence trends, identifying patterns and addressing issues proactively.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and customers, confidently challenging when necessary.
  • Provide advice on Absence Management and People Relations, aligning with DHU policies, best practices, and legislation, seeking support from relevant teams when needed.
  • Support managers with formal and informal absence meetings, early interventions, and escalation procedures.
  • Assist with Occupational Health referrals and coordinate follow-up actions with People & Culture and other departments.
  • Ensure all correspondence aligns with our CARE values, policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Maintain employee records in line with GDPR, CQC, and local compliance standards, ensuring comprehensive documentation of People Relations matters.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A good general education, ideally at degree level.
  • Relevant professional HR qualification (CIPD Level 5 preferred, or Level 3 with progression towards Level 5).
  • At least 2 years of general ER experience.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and Excel trackers.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities efficiently.
