Job Description:

Team Penske is seeking a Full-Time Penske Gallery Host to create memorable guest experiences at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum's Penske Gallery. The host will connect visitors with the stories, artifacts, and themes of the gallery, working closely with the gallery coordinator, team members, volunteers, and staff to ensure an engaging, well-maintained space. The role requires developing an in-depth understanding of the exhibit and museum to answer questions and facilitate engaging conversations, enhancing visitors' understanding and appreciation of Team Penske and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Additionally, the host will gather guest feedback and report insights to the gallery coordinator.

Responsibilities:

• Guest Engagement & Interpretation:
  • Interact with guests, ask and answer questions, and tailor experiences to their interests.
  • Connect conversations with displays and interactive elements to encourage personal observations.
  • Answer questions about the Penske Gallery and IMS directions (such as locations of other galleries, restrooms, exits).
• Gallery Monitoring:
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the space, including trash removal, dusting, and touchscreen cleaning.
  • Ensure artifacts are not touched and report any issues or repairs needed.
• Necessary Knowledge:
  • Develop expertise in Team Penske history and IMS performance.
  • Understand the Indy 500 and IMS as a whole.
• Schedule:
  • This is a full-time position requiring at least 30 hours per week.
  • Weekend work is mandatory.
  • Evening and after-hours events may be required.
  • Regular attendance at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum is essential.

Physical Demands:

• Stand, walk, kneel, or sit for extended periods.
• Work on a computer for extended periods.
• Lift light to moderate loads (11-35 lbs.) as needed.
• Exposure to moderate to heavy noise or flashing lights in certain areas.
