Job summary

Weightmans, a leading UK law firm, is seeking a Pensions Solicitor to join our Employment, Pensions and Immigration team in Leeds. You will support senior colleagues with a diverse pensions caseload and contribute to business development activities.

The role requires 1-6 years PQE in pensions law, strong advisory and transactional experience, and excellent communication and time-management skills. You will work collaboratively with clients and internal teams while upholding Weightmans' values

Qualifications

• Solicitor with 1–6 years post-qualification experience in pensions law.
• Experience in advisory, transactional and documentation work.
• Technically strong with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a mixed caseload of pensions work.
• Provide pensions law advice on private and public sector schemes.
• Manage relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
• Assist in innovation and product development.
• Assist with business development activities (events and BD work).

To support senior colleagues in the Pensions team with a diverse caseload of pensions matters and to contribute to pensions business development activities.

Roles & responsibilities

• Manage a mixed caseload of pensions work
• Provide pensions law advice on all types of private and public sector pension schemes
• Management of relationships with clients and key stakeholders
• Assist in the designation and implementation of innovation and product development
• Assist with other business development work (attendance at in-person events as well as assisting with behind-the-scenes BD work)
• Work in accordance with client and internal SLAs
• Work in accordance with Weightmans' values

About You

You will have previous experience and a genuine and demonstrable interest in the above area of work. We also require you to have/be:

• Solicitor with 1-6 years post qualification experience in pensions law
• Experience in a range of relevant advisory, transactional and documentation work
• Technically strong and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Methodical, organised approach
