Job summary

Penningtons Manches LLP is seeking a 1-3 PQE Associate to join its Pensions team. The role offers exposure to a broad client base of trustees, employers and pension scheme providers, and opportunities to develop in a highly regarded practice.

The successful candidate will support partners on advisory, transactional and regulatory pensions work, with strong drafting and communication skills and a proactive, collaborative approach in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with exposure to pensions law.
• Strong drafting and communication skills.
• Commercial awareness and ability to understand clients’ business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Supporting partners and senior lawyers on a wide range of pensions & life assurance matters, including advisory, transactional, and regulatory work.
• Advising trustee and employer clients on day-to-day pension scheme issues, including governance, benefit structures, and compliance.
• Assisting with pensions aspects of corporate transactions, including due diligence and drafting pensions-related documentation.
• Drafting and reviewing scheme documentation, member communications, and legal advice notes.
• Conducting legal research and staying up to date with pensions law developments and regulatory changes.
• Participating in client meetings and contributing to delivering practical, client-focused solutions.
• Supporting business development activities, including preparing pitches and contributing to thought leadership.
