Job summary

The BBC is recruiting a Lead Data Engineer for the Pensions and Benefits Centre in Cardiff. You will lead a team of six, own and enhance the pension calculation stack (Oracle PL/SQL), and manage administration data quality and workflows.

You will also oversee member communications and self-service portals, plus drive tech projects and stakeholder relationships. This permanent, full-time role offers a chance to influence pension policy, with flexible working discussed at offer stage.

Qualifications

• Proven leader of technical teams and people management experience.
• Strong expertise in SQL and relational databases (Oracle).
• Experience delivering technology projects with robust change control (Jira, GitHub).
• Ability to analyse data, generate reports and manage data quality.
