Job summary

Positive Employment is recruiting for an Employer Services Manager for a Wiltshire-based local government pension fund. You will lead the Employer Services team, managing i-Connect, data quality and annual statements, while ensuring compliance and timely reporting.

You will oversee complex data flows, mentor staff, and work with Actuary and management to deliver accurate pension data. Hybrid role with an initial 3-month contract.

Qualifications

• Degree or professional qualification (IPPM/PMI/CII) or equivalent.
• Experience administering a large final salary pension scheme and/or operating SQL databases and Chrysalis code.
• Experience with the Altair LGPS system and pensions administration software.
• Strong knowledge of defined benefit pension scheme management, LGPS regulations, tax and data protection law.
• Advanced Excel and Access skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the management and effective use of i-Connect, including employer relations, onboarding and training new employers.
• Ensure checks and controls on monthly employer returns and improve data submission speed and accuracy.
• Maintain high-quality active membership data, including CARE data and salary history.
• Ensure data processes comply with legislation, including new starters, refunds and aggregations.
• Manage end-of-year data collection and reconciliation to meet statutory deadlines.
• Oversee production and distribution of around 50,000 Annual Benefit Statements.
• Work with stakeholders to deliver accurate Triennial Valuation data to the Fund’s Actuary.
• Provide accurate data for employer admissions, transfers and cessations.
• Design and oversee employer data reconciliations and data protection compliance.
• Produce employer and Fund performance data.
• Line manage the Employer Services team, including training and development.
• Review processes to improve data quality, efficiency and benefit processing.
• Act as a member of the Pension Fund Management Team with expert technical advice.
