Job summary

Gallagher is seeking a Pensions Consultant to join a specialist team based in First Actuarial, with bases in Basingstoke, Peterborough, or Tonbridge. You will deliver consultancy, secretariat, and governance services to a diverse client portfolio and support internal teams while developing governance documentation and project plans.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert consultancy, secretariat, and governance services to a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Coordinate Trustee and client meetings, prepare agendas, reports, and minutes.
  • Maintain governance documentation and ensure compliance with governance standards.
  • Lead and support projects with detailed project plans and timely delivery.
  • Produce high-quality reports and presentations for internal and client audiences.
  • Contribute to new business tenders and proposals.
  • Collaborate with the specialist consultancy team to deliver services and advice.

Overview

We are seeking a Pensions Consultant to join our expert team within First Actuarial; to be based in Basingstoke, Peterborough, or Tonbridge. Our team specialises in delivering consultancy, secretarial, project, and technical services to clients, while also supporting internal teams, firm-wide projects, and focus groups. We’re looking for someone with exceptional communication and organisational skills, coupled with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in delivering pension scheme client services. How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Deliver expert consultancy, secretariat, and governance services to a diverse portfolio of clients, fostering strong and trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders in collaboration with dedicated client teams.
  • Coordinate and manage Trustee and client meetings, including preparing agendas, meeting packs, drafting and presenting reports, recording minutes, and tracking actions and decisions to completion.
  • Maintain and enhance key governance documentation and policies, ensuring compliance with scheme governance requirements and supporting Trustee boards in meeting Effective System of Governance standards.
  • Lead and support a variety of projects, ensuring timely delivery to clients and internal teams, while drafting and maintaining detailed project plans.
  • Produce and present high-quality reports, documents, and presentations, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and professionalism for both internal and client audiences.
  • Support the onboarding of new clients, with opportunities to contribute to new business tenders and proposals.
  • Collaborate with the specialist consultancy team to deliver exceptional services and advice to both external clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Commit to personal growth and continuous learning, staying up to date with the latest pensions legislation and industry developments.

  • Proven expertise in pension scheme management, with a strong commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Client-focused relationship management experience, showcasing excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Project management experience is a plus, demonstrating the ability to deliver results in dynamic environments.
  • In-depth understanding of pension scheme governance requirements, ensuring compliance and best practices.
  • A track record of collaborative success, working effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritise workloads efficiently.
  • Outstanding communication abilities, both written and verbal, with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A self-motivated professional who thrives both independently and within a team environment.
