Job summary

ARCC CONSULTING LIMITED in London seeks a Pension Calculation Analyst to lead calculation development within the Solutions Team. The role mentors junior staff and defines processes for accurate DB calculations across retirement, transfer and death scenarios, while coordinating with analysts, developers and product managers.

Office 2 days per week and 3 days WFH, with a salary up to £52,000. The position requires strong rule interpretation, documentation, and collaboration to ensure calculations

Qualifications

  • Strong DB and DC technical knowledge.
  • Detailed understanding of DB calculations (retirement/transfer/death calcs).
  • Ability to interpret scheme rules and documentation into calculation specs.

Responsibilities

  • Own the company methodology and process for calculation development, understanding dependencies on other systems and tasks.
  • Develop subject matter expertise and train others to work within the methodology.
  • Analyze new and existing calculations, scheme rules, and legislation to produce detailed calculation specifications for build and test.
  • Collaborate with analysts, developers, client project analysts, and operations teams on implementations and changes.
  • Support Product Manager on new/existing product development related to calculations and related functions.
  • Support introduction of new procedures through documentation and communication and manage changes within business areas.

Job Details
  • Job Title/Location: Pension Calculation Analyst, London/Hybrid
  • Salary: To £52,000
  • Office/WFH: Office 2 days p/w + 3 days p/w WFH
  • Requirements: Strong DB calculations understanding, ability to extract technical info from scheme rules/documentation & interpret into calculation development specifications
  • Role Snapshot: Take a lead role in defining/developing standard calculations & develop a process to ensure new calculation requirements align with our clients operating model.
Role

The Pension Calculation Analyst will be expected to mentor junior members of staff and play a lead role within the Solutions Team. A high‑profile role within the team, would suit someone with the ability to work across multiple projects at a time. Key responsibilities include:

  • Own the company methodology and process for calculation development, understanding the dependencies on other systems/business tasks.
  • Develop subject matter expertise knowledge level and take responsibility for training/providing guidance on this process to other staff, ensuring they are working within the methodology.
  • Complete detailed analysis of new and existing calculations, scheme rules, technical documentation, legislation to produce detailed calculation specifications that provide the information needed to build and test the calculations.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other analysts, developers, client project analysts, technical and operations teams in respect of implementations, projects and change.
  • Work with Product Manager to support them on new and existing product development in relation to calculations and related functions and support business development opportunities.
  • Support the introduction and adoption of new procedures through documentation and communication. Support the introduction of change within business areas.
Qualifications

For the Pension Calculation Analyst role you must have strong DB & good DC technical knowledge & a detailed understanding of DB calculations (retirement/transfer/death calcs).
