Job summary

Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a Personal Support Worker with lived experience to join our community-based teams in Coventry. The role focuses on compassionate support and facilitating recovery for service users.

You will contribute to Recovery and Wellbeing Academy workshops, work with a multidisciplinary team, and receive training including PSW and Care Certificate, with supportive supervision.

Qualifications

  • Lived experience of psychosis and insight into recovery.
  • Strong empathy and ability to support others.
  • Good communication and listening skills.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with individuals in a community setting to promote recovery and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to workshops with the Recovery and Wellbeing Academy.

Job description

Please note: Lived experience means having experienced psychosis first hand and is not experience gained through professionally supporting someone. Please only applyif you have personally experienced psychosis and received support from an Early Intervention team. In this role the appointed candidate will take on further training such as PSW training and Care Certificate. Completion of the 2-day introduction to PSW via the Recovery and wellbeing Academy is extremely advantageous prior to interview. The PSW employed will be supported by the Senior PSW to safely navigate and thrive in the role. The PSW will also work alongsideteams to help engage and deliver services and promote recovery. This role is for someone with lived experience of receiving support from an Early Intervention for Psychosis service, who feels comfortable using their experiences to show empathy and understanding to help others and to inspire hope and recovery. As this role is within a community setting, we are looking for someone who has resilience, great communication skills and willing to utilise and share theirlived experiencesto support others. Your impact will be wide-reaching. As well as working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you'll work closely with the Recovery and Wellbeing Academy, which delivers educational courses and workshops to anyone over the age of 18 living in Coventry and Warwickshire. You will contribute to the co-creation and delivery of these workshops and courses.
