Job summary

Locala Health and Wellbeing in North Kirklees is seeking a Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join the Children's Community SLT Team on a temporary 6‑month contract. The post covers Dewsbury, Batley and Spenborough and is for 22.5 hours per week.

You will assess, diagnose and deliver care to children with eating, drinking and swallowing (EDS) and speech, language and communication needs across community settings, working independently and as part of the MDT to support families

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
• Experience with children with Eating, Drinking and Swallowing difficulties is essential.
• Experience with SLCN in community settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and deliver care to children with EDS and SLCN.
• Work independently and as part of the MDT to support families and colleagues.
• Provide child-centred support across health, education and social care settings.
