Job summary

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist in Symptom and Palliative Care for Children and Young People. This part-time role focuses on delivering high-quality symptom control and palliative care for CYP with cancer, collaborating with the CYPOONS team and MDTs across settings.

You will provide clinical expertise, lead practice improvements, and support families through a patient-centred care approach.

Qualifications

Children's oncology qualification/experience.
Teaching qualification expected.
Willingness to undertake higher degree.
Children's community nursing qualification/experience.
Experience in research.

Responsibilities

Provide professional and clinical leadership for CYPs with symptom and palliative care needs across care settings.
Act as an expert clinical resource for symptom and palliative care for CYPs and their families across care settings.
Support CYPs and their families through community visits to hospital, home or hospice with relevant allied healthcare professionals.
Provide expert clinical care to this group of CYPs and their families.
Demonstrate a high degree of professional autonomy, using clinical judgment to provide advice.
Participate in the out of hours PATCH on-call rota when deemed competent to do so (and within 12 months of commencing the post) and there is a position available.
