Job summary

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced nurse to deliver specialist care to children and young people within Chailey Clinical Services, including school and residential settings. The role requires robust nursing knowledge, NMC registration, and commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality.

You will work across diverse environments, provide education to staff and ensure care plans reflect best practice while supporting families and young people with complex health needs.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with the NMC and adhere to the NMC code of conduct.
• Experience delivering care to children/young people with complex health needs.
• Ability to work across school and residential settings.
• Ability to respond to stressful situations and manage rotas.
• Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based specialist nursing care to children and young people.
• Promote independence and respect cultural/religious needs.
• Contribute to medicines management and provide nursing advice.
• Provide education and support to non-registered and registered staff.
• Work across environments including classrooms, outdoor areas, and swimming pools.
• Support assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
• Respect confidentiality.
