Job summary

NCIC is seeking a Community Paediatric Audiology Assistant to support hearing screening in schools and clinical assessments for children aged 0–19. The role involves coordinated testing in Carlisle, Penrith, Eden and surrounding areas, organizing clinics and liaising with parents and school staff.

Candidates will work under the Paediatric Audiologist, handle complex test procedures, and contribute to a compliant, patient‑centred service within our rural healthcare network.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 Childcare/Business Admin/NNEB/CACHE diploma in Childcare or equivalent.
• Experience of working with young children/babies.
• Knowledge of Audiology services.
• Experience of working in the clinical environment of the NHS.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Test hearing in schools, Carlisle/Penrith/Eden and surrounding areas.
• Record results and monitor outcomes; refer on as required.
• Organise School Age Hearing Clinics and perform complex tests.
• Assist Audiologist with testing pre‑school age children using standard protocols.
• Be the first point of contact for parents/guardians and professionals.
