Job summary

GSL Education South Yorkshire is seeking a motivated Physical Education Teacher to join our partner schools in Barnsley. You will plan and deliver engaging PE lessons across a range of sports, promote fitness, teamwork, and positive attitudes toward sport.

You must have Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent), experience teaching PE in a school setting, and a willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential.
• Experience teaching PE within a school or similar setting.
• Good knowledge of the PE curriculum and a range of sports.
• Confidence leading practical activities indoors and outdoors.
• Strong communication, organisation and classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver PE lessons across a range of sports and activities.
• Teach students correct techniques, rules, and safe sporting practices.
• Adapt activities to suit different abilities and levels of experience.
• Encourage teamwork, fair play, discipline and active participation.

Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)

The PE Teacher delivers engaging physical education lessons that help students improve their sporting skills, fitness, teamwork, and understanding of healthy lifestyles.

PE Teacher Responsibilities:

• Monitor individual progress and provide useful feedback

PE Teacher Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
• Previous experience teaching PE within a school or similar setting
• Good knowledge of the PE curriculum and a variety of sports
• Confidence leading practical activities indoors and outdoors
• Strong communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
