Job summary

Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Darlington to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated PE Teacher for a full-time, long-term supply role starting in September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate PE specialist to inspire students to develop a lifelong love of physical activity, teamwork and healthy living.

The role is expected to continue for the academic year, with the potential for extension or a permanent opportunity

Qualifications

  • Holds QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching PE in a UK secondary school.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Passion for promoting health, fitness and wellbeing.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Committed to achieving the best outcomes for every student.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Encourage participation, confidence and resilience through a range of sporting activities.
  • Create a positive and safe learning environment for all students.
  • Support pupils of varying abilities, including those with SEND.
  • Contribute to extracurricular sport where appropriate.
  • Build strong relationships with students, colleagues and parents.

The Role

You will:

  • Has strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Is committed to achieving the best outcomes for every student.
