Job summary

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting passionate PE Teachers to work across a range of secondary schools throughout South Yorkshire. We offer flexible daily supply, long-term and permanent opportunities to suit your experience and availability.

Roles across Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham and surrounding areas with competitive daily rates and ongoing consultant support. Start date September 2026. DBS checks required.

Qualifications

• QTS or relevant teaching experience.
• Strong PE knowledge and ability to teach a range of sporting activities.
• Experience teaching PE at secondary level.
• Excellent classroom, behaviour and group management.
• Ability to engage, motivate and inspire students.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
• Flexible, reliable and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Plan and adapt lessons to meet the needs of all students.
• Teach a range of practical sports and develop students' physical skills and knowledge.
• Support students studying GCSE and vocational PE qualifications where required.
• Promote teamwork, discipline, resilience and healthy lifestyles.
• Manage behaviour effectively and maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Support extracurricular activities, sports clubs and school competitions where appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and school leadership teams.

As a PE Teacher working through Teaching Personnel, you could be supporting schools across Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham and the surrounding areas. Your responsibilities may include:
