We are seeking an inspirational and knowledgeable Teacher of PE to join a dynamic department dedicated to nurturing curiosity and a lifelong passion for physical education.

Our PE department is a vibrant team of professionals committed to delivering engaging lessons, encouraging student participation, and promoting holistic development through sport and physical activity. We foster a supportive learning environment where every student is empowered to explore, grow, and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities

Planning and Delivering High-Quality Lessons

Design engaging, inclusive lessons tailored to meet the needs of all learners, including students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Align lesson content with the National Curriculum and school policies, making effective use of technology and evidence-based teaching strategies.

Assessing and Tracking Progress

Use a range of formative and summative assessment methods to monitor student progress.

Report regularly on attainment and development to students, parents/carers, and leadership.

Promoting a Positive Learning Environment

Set and maintain clear expectations for behaviour and engagement.

Build a respectful, inclusive classroom culture where all students feel safe, valued, and motivated.

Understand and respond to the emotional and mental health needs of students.

Work in partnership with pastoral staff and external agencies to ensure appropriate support is in place.

Engaging in Professional Development

Take part in ongoing CPD to deepen subject knowledge and enhance teaching practice.

Collaborate with colleagues to reflect, innovate, and remain responsive to changes in education policy.

Qualifications & Experience

Degree in Physical Education or a related discipline.

Strong grasp of current PE curriculum standards and effective teaching strategies.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

A genuine passion for PE and a dedication to inspiring students.

Ability to drive a minibus (or willingness to train).

For female candidates: Experience in netball, dance, or gymnastics.

For male candidates: Versatility in games such as football, basketball, and rugby.

Active involvement in extra-curricular and after-school sports programmes.
