Job summary

Rotherfield Primary School in Crowborough is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support PE and sport provision. You will work with teachers to plan and deliver engaging lessons, support pupil progress, and foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.

The role requires HLTA qualification and experience, a passion for teaching sports, and strong communication with students, families and staff.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification and experience in the HLTA role.
• Passion for teaching children a range of different sports.
• Strong understanding of how children learn and adapt approaches for diverse needs.
• Excellent communication with children, colleagues and families.
• Ability to contribute to lesson planning and assessment.
• Knowledge of behaviour management and promoting positive behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Teach PE as part of PPA cover.
• Promote positive behaviour through our therapeutic thinking approach.
• Organise and manage learning spaces and resources safely.
• Build strong relationships with children, colleagues and families.
• Organise sporting events with local schools and accompany children to events.
