Job summary

Contechs Consulting is seeking a PDM BOM Lead / CAD Data Transfer Lead for contract work in the UK, with options based in Woking or Bicester. You will manage CAD data transfers between PLM systems, validate data quality, and uphold IP protection and NDA governance while coordinating with engineering and IT teams.

You will also validate BoM data across programmes, support concept through to release readiness, and ensure buildable configurations align with product specifications.

Qualifications

• Expertise in 3DEXPERIENCE and CATIA within an automotive environment.
• Transfer CAD data and metadata between PLM systems and internal/external partners.
• Validate CAD and metadata quality prior to transfer and maintain audit trails.
• Ensure compliance with IP protection, NDAs and transfer governance.

Responsibilities

• Perform BoM validation across assigned programmes and support BOM structure management.
• Maintain product configurations and vehicle variants through evolution with VC application.
• Support release readiness and freeze activities aligned to programme timelines.
• Collaborate with Engineering, IT and external partners to resolve transfer issues.

Essential Criteria:

Engineering Data Transfer

• Expertise in 3DEXPERIENCE and CATIA within an Automotive environment is essential.
• Perform CAD and metadata transfers between PLM systems, internal customers, and external partners.
• Validate CAD and metadata quality before transfer.
• Ensure compliance with IP protection, NDAs, transfer agreements, and governance requirements.
• Maintain transfer traceability and audit records.
• Liaise with Engineering, IT, and external partners to resolve transfer issues and support programme delivery.
• Understand data structures and export workflows to support root-cause analysis.

BoM & Product Structure Management

• Perform BoM validation activities across assigned programmes.
• Support development of concept, mule, prototype, and programme BoMs using PMXU Product Specifications.
• Support release readiness and freeze activities in line with programme timeline. Resolve BoM discrepancies, missing data, attribute conflicts, and structure issues.
• Support root-cause investigations impacting engineering, manufacturing, logistics, and procurement.
• Maintain accurate product configurations, vehicle variants, through evolution, and VC application, ensuring complete and buildable configurations against product specifications.
