Job summary

Sumitomo Electric is seeking a PDM BOM Lead / CAD Data Transfer Lead on a contract basis, based in the UK at either Woking or Bicester. The role focuses on expert CAD data transfer between PLM systems within an automotive environment, ensuring data quality and governance across programmes.

Responsibilities include BoM validation, product structure management, and liaison with Engineering and IT to resolve transfer issues and support programme delivery.

Qualifications

• Expertise in 3DEXPERIENCE and CATIA within an Automotive environment.
• Engineering Data Transfer and CAD/metadata transfers between PLM systems, internal customers and external partners.
• Validate CAD and metadata quality before transfer.
• Ensure compliance with IP protection, NDAs, transfer agreements and governance requirements.
• Maintain transfer traceability and audit records.
• Liaise with Engineering, IT and external partners to resolve transfer issues and support programme delivery.
• Understand data structures and export workflows to support root-cause analysis.
• BoM & Product Structure Management and BoM validation across programmes.
• Support concept, mule, prototype and programme BoMs using PMXU Product Specifications.
• Support release readiness and freeze activities in line with programme timelines; resolve BoM discrepancies and data issues.
• Support root-cause investigations affecting engineering, manufacturing, logistics and procurement.
• Maintain accurate product configurations and vehicle variants through evolution and VC application.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Engineering and IT to resolve transfer issues and support programme delivery.
• Support BoM validation and product structure management across assigned programmes.
• Assist in development of BoMs using PMXU Product Specifications and ensure alignment with programme timelines.
• Contribute to root-cause investigations impacting engineering, manufacturing, logistics and procurement.
