Job summary

AFI-Rentals is hiring a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Engineer to join our Milton Keynes depot. You will carry out pre-delivery inspections, services, and repairs on our rental fleet, with full training provided as you progress through a staged salary increase.

Under the Senior Engineer, you will perform inspections, record checks with a PDA, and support other engineering tasks as needed while developing mechanical and electrical skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PDIs, services, repairs and manufacturer updates on the rental fleet.
• Accurately record checks using a PDA and follow company procedures.
• Coordinate with the engineering team and depot staff to maximise machine availability.
• Work 45 hours per week Monday to Friday, with overtime as required.
• Perform other engineering tasks under supervision as needed.

• Carry out PDIs, services, repairs, and manufacturer updates, and maintain the corporate image of our fleet of rental machines.
• Accurately complete all necessary recording of checks using a company-issued PDA, following company procedure at all times.
• Communicate effectively with the engineering team and hire office to make sure that the depot maintains maximum machine availability.
• 45 hours a week, Mon to Fri (plus overtime as required).

This PDI Engineer role would suit candidates with experience or enthusiasm for learning new skills in engineering, plant, servicing, repairs, maintenance, PDA, electrical engineering, hydraulic systems, and pre-delivery inspections.
