Job summary

NEOS Engineering in Mildenhall is seeking a PDI Technician to join their depot. The role involves inspecting, preparing and commissioning brand-new machinery to the highest standard before delivery, with a strong emphasis on quality and safety.

You will carry out pre-delivery inspections, assemble and test equipment, install optional accessories and complete paperwork. A background as a PDI Technician or similar, with basic electrical fault-finding, and a full UK driving licence are preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a PDI Technician, Workshop Engineer or Plant Fitter is desirable.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with basic electrical fault-finding skills.
• Proactive attitude and keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and commission new machinery to a high standard before customer delivery.
• Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on new machinery.
• Assemble and prepare new equipment for customer delivery.
• Complete final checks, testing and commissioning.
• Install optional accessories and customer-specific requirements.
• Diagnose and rectify faults prior to handover.
• Complete all relevant paperwork and inspection reports.
• Maintain high workshop and health & safety standards.

NEOS Engineering are currently working with a leading construction plant business that is looking to recruit a PDI Technician to join their depot in Mildenhall.

The Role

As a PDI Technician, you'll be responsible for inspecting, preparing and commissioning new machinery, ensuring it is fully operational and presented to the highest standard before delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on new machinery.
• Assemble and prepare new equipment for customer delivery.
• Complete final checks, testing and commissioning.
• Install optional accessories and customer‑specific requirements.
• Diagnose and rectify any faults prior to handover.
• Complete all relevant paperwork and inspection reports.
• Maintain high workshop and health & safety standards.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a PDI Technician, Workshop Engineer or Plant Fitter.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with basic electrical fault‑finding skills.
• A proactive attitude and keen eye for detail.
• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plant Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle, Agricultural Engineering or similar (desirable).
• Full UK Driving Licence.
