RECRUITMENT HELPLINE is seeking an experienced PCV Technician for a Full-Time role (45 hours with overtime) in Newmains, Wishaw. Salary ranges from £42,120 to £51,480 per year, with a permanent secure position and pension contributions.

The company emphasizes safe, dependable bus transport and community ties across Lanarkshire. The role requires NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, multi-skill capability in engineering, and a PCV licence is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds Level 1/2.
• Ability to multi-skill within an Engineering environment.
• PCV licence is desirable but not essential.
• Experience with buses/coaches or similar vehicles is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing and parts replacement.
• Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used.
• Carry out routine vehicle servicing and examinations to DVSA standards.
• Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns.
• Maintain high Health & Safety standards.

Requirements

• A minimum Level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent (i.e. City & Guilds Level 1&2) (Light vehicle skilled mechanics will be considered for alternative positions)
• Ability to multi-skill within an Engineering environment.
• A PCV licence or the willingness to gain a PCV licence is desirable but not essential.
• Experience of working with buses and coaches would be advantageous, however, HGV and light-vehicle mechanics should also apply.
