Job summary

Bidvest Noonan in United Kingdom seeks a hands-on Bus Maintenance Assistant responsible for fueling, checking oil and coolant, and top-ups, plus washing buses to a high standard.

You will record odometer readings and fleet numbers, report defects, keep the wash area tidy, and comply with safety and data privacy guidelines. A category D PCV bus licence and fluent English are essential; eligibility to work in Ireland full-time is required.

Responsibilities

• Fuel vehicles using the Jigsaw system and record fuel details.
• Take odometer readings and log fleet numbers for each issue.
• Check and top up engine oil, coolant and add blue as needed.
• Wash buses, ensure exterior is clean and windscreen is spotless.
• Report damage to Supervisor or Team Leader and maintain a tidy area.
• Shunt, park buses safely and keep wash area free of spills.

Job description

• Use your individual PIN number to log into the Jigsaw electronic fuelling system.
• Odometer (milage) readings and fleet numbers must be recorded for each issue of fuel.
• Fuel the vehicle, check and top up engine oil, coolant and add blue.
• Wash buses ensuring that the bus is fully clean on the outside which may include washing manually. Windscreen must be fully cleaned on the outside, all bus and fly residue removed.
• Report any damage to the Supervisor or Team Leader.
• Keep the wash area clean and tidy.
• Clean up any spillages at the wash area.
• Report any wheel nut, rust, marks or loose wheels.
• Report an medical defects etc. oil leaks, coolant leaks missing belts.
• Shunt and park buses as required.
• When parking buses leave a metre space between them.

Key Requirements:

• Do you have a good level of English?
• Do you have good attention to detail?
• Do you hold a category D (PCV bus) driving licence?
• Do you have a valid visa to work in Ireland on a full-time basis?
• You must have a full Licence to drive buses.
