Job summary

Sasse Limited in Heckmondwike is recruiting a PCV Shunter to support Arriva at the Heckmondwike Bus Depot. The role is full-time and permanent, on a 37.5-hour week with a 5pm to 1am shift and 5 days across a 7-day rota.

Key duties include processing vehicles on return to the depot, moving buses within the yard, performing visual checks, reporting defects, and complying with health & safety policies. A valid UK PCV (D category) licence is required.

Qualifications

• Full UK PCV (D category) driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Process vehicles on return to the depot, ensuring safe handling.
• Move and manoeuvre buses within the depot and on public roads as directed.
• Carry out visual vehicle checks and report any damage or defects promptly.
• Ensure windows are closed before bus wash where applicable.
• Carry out exterior cleaning and maintain vehicle presentation.
• Follow health and safety procedures and use digital reporting tools.
• Support additional depot duties as a General Service Operative.
