Job summary

London Hire Ltd is seeking a PCV Driver (Zero-Hours) based in Hoddesdon to provide safe transport services for clients and service users, including rail replacement and private hire work. You will operate a vehicle, perform safety checks, and assist passengers as needed.

The role requires a D1 licence with up to 3 penalty points, CPC card, 2+ years bus/coach driving experience, tachograph card, and DBS/medical clearances. Zero-hours contracts with split shifts and on-site parking are offered.

Qualifications

• Hold a full unrestricted D1 driving licence (auto restrictions acceptable) with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Hold a CPC qualification card, with mandatory training kept up to date.
• Minimum of two years’ experience of driving a bus or coach.
• Hold or willing to apply for a DVLA Digital Tachograph driver’s card.
• Willing to undertake and satisfy a DBS check.
• Hold a current and valid D4 medical examination report.

Responsibilities

• Operate the vehicle in a safe manner, adhering to local road restrictions and speed limits.
• Ensure mandatory vehicle checks are undertaken every time the vehicle is used to a standard acceptable on the road.
• Ensure that all passengers and wheelchair users are secured correctly using the necessary safety equipment.
• Ensure vehicle has adequate fuel and refuel as needed.
• Keep the vehicle clean inside and out on a weekly basis.
• Remove and replace seating as required.
• Park the vehicle in depot pre-allocated bays where possible.
• Operate the passenger lift and assist passengers entering and exiting safely.
• Communicate with passengers and clients in a patient, informative manner.
• Assist the Passenger Assistant with their duties as required.
