Job summary

MTrec Ltd is seeking an Electronic Repair Technician in the United Kingdom. The role involves testing and repairing PCBA assemblies to component level, identifying root causes, and performing soldering and rework as needed.

The candidate will document repairs, support the Test Engineering function, and develop soldering techniques for complex PCBA’s. Opportunities exist to implement process improvements and work on a variety of products.

Qualifications

• Must have working knowledge of electronics sector.
• Able to fault find down to component level.
• Experience with electronic test equipment.
• HNC or equivalent qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Test and repair PCBA assemblies to component level.
• Identify root causes from testing.
• Soldering, reworking and replacement of components.
• Accurate data entry to document repair work.
• Support the Test Engineering function on various products.
• Develop soldering techniques for complex PCBA’s.
• Recommend process improvements to prevent PCB failures.
• Support SMT with complex re-processing.
• Return repaired products to customers with notes.
