Job summary

Holt Executive seeks a PCB Design Engineer to join a highly technical team. You will design and lay out boards across RF, digital, analogue and mixed-signal domains, translating schematics into manufacturable PCBs and supporting reviews. Hybrid on-site work is offered with mentoring and career development.

You will work with experienced engineers and gain exposure to advanced PCB technologies while developing ownership of your work and professional processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in PCB design and electronics design support.
• Interest in electronics, PCB layout, and manufacturable designs.
• Some experience using PCB design software; Altium experience advantageous.
• Basic understanding of component placement, routing, design rules and manufacturing outputs.
• Excellent attention to detail and methodical checking of work.
• Ability to take feedback positively and develop quickly.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Proactive, reliable and hands-on approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to PCB design activities from library creation to layout, documentation and release.
• Translate schematics into manufacturable PCB layouts.
• Develop understanding of component placement, routing and manufacturing outputs.
• Carry out detailed checking to ensure designs and release packages are accurate.
• Support design reviews by preparing materials and implementing feedback.
• Develop experience across RF, digital, analogue and power PCB design.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers on board integration and design trade-offs.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams throughout development lifecycle.
• Contribute to delivery tracking and PCB technology assessments as experience grows.

We are looking for aPCB DesignEngineertojoin a highly technical engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for PCB layout who wants to develop their skills and build a long-term career in high-quality board design.

You will work alongside experienced engineers on a varied range ofRF, digital,analogueand mixed-signal designs, gaining exposure to increasingly complex PCB technologies and applications.

The role will provide structured support and mentoring while giving you the opportunity to take ownership of your work and develop a strong understanding of professional PCB design processes.

Applicants for this role must hold, or be eligible to hold, UK SC Clearance.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to PCB design activities fromcomponentlibrary creation and maintenance through to layout,documentationand release.
• Translate electronic schematics into structured, manufacturable PCB layouts.
• Develop your understanding ofcomponentplacement, routing, designrulesand manufacturing outputs.
• Carry out detailed checking to ensure designs, documentation and release packages areaccurateand complete.

• Develop practical experience acrossRF, digital,analogueand power PCB design.
• Work closely with mechanical engineers on board integration, packagingconstraintsand design trade-offs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• As your experience develops, contribute to delivery tracking, process improvements, supplierdiscussionsand PCB technology assessments.

About You

You will ideally have:

• Experiencein PCB design, electronics designsupportor a closely related role.
• A genuine interest in electronics, PCB layout and developing high-quality, manufacturable designs.
• Some experience using PCB design software;Altiumexperience would beadvantageous.
• A basic understanding ofcomponentplacement, routing, designrulesand manufacturing outputs.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to checking your work.

Qualifications

• AnHNC, HND, degree, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experiencein electronics, PCB design or a related discipline would be beneficial.
