Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment Consultants is seeking a PCB / Cable Assembly Operator in Rochester, Kent. The role involves hands-on assembly of PCBs and cable assemblies, soldering SMD and through-hole components, and operating SMT pick-and-place equipment to populate boards.

The ideal candidate has PCB/cable assembly experience, soldering and crimping skills, and a keen eye for quality. A manufacturing environment background and ability to read assembly diagrams are essential; IPC certifications are

Qualifications

• Experience in PCB or cable assembly.
• Soldering and crimping experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Ability to read and follow assembly instructions/diagrams.
• Good attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Basic computer skills (Word/Excel).
• IPC-A-610 and/or IPC-A-620 certification advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assemble PCB and cable assemblies to required standards.
• Solder surface mount and through-hole components onto PCBs.
• Operate SMT pick-and-place equipment to populate circuit boards.
• Build cable assemblies using soldering and crimping techniques.
• Follow work instructions, diagrams and assembly drawings accurately.
• Maintain high levels of quality and attention to detail.
• Apply approved soldering processes and assembly techniques.
• Work as part of a team and independently when required.
• Ensure production targets and quality standards are achieved.
