Job summary

Prodrive is seeking a CMM Programmer / Inspector to create, validate and run CMM inspection programmes and perform dimensional inspection to ensure products meet engineering specs and quality standards. You will work with Production and Quality to provide accurate measurement data and reports for efficient inventory flow and timely decisions.

Ideal candidates have proven metrology experience in motorsport or low-volume automotive environments, with PC-DMIS programming ability and strong GD&T

Qualifications

• Proven experience in professional metrology and inspection within motorsport or low-volume automotive environment.
• Ability to programme and operate a CMM using PC-DMIS.
• PC-DMIS Level 3 training desirab le.
• Able to interpret complex 2D engineering drawings, CAD data and GD&T; familiarity with FTA in CAD is desirable.
• Experience in manual inspection and metrology techniques, with a sound understanding of first principles.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing methods and commodities, including composites, precision machining, surface coatings and subcontract operations.
• Excellent time management skills and deadlines-driven.

Responsibilities

• Plan, write and validate CMM inspection programmes using PC-DMIS for new products and process-change activity.
• Run existing CMM inspection programmes to support goods-inwards checks and in-process/first-off inspections from the in-house Machine Shop.
• Troubleshoot and optimise existing programmes to improve measurement accuracy, repeatability and inspection cycle time.
• Generate clear, accurate dimensional inspection reports and ballooned inspection drawings.
• Carry out general dimensional inspection of components against 2D drawings, CAD data and engineering specifications.
• Use a range of inspection equipment, including Trimos, Mitutoyo SurfTest, hand tools/gauges and hardness testing equipment.
• Act as a professional technical interface with other departments, clearly communicating inspection results and any areas of concern.
